Furniture dictates behavior. It forces us into a pattern of behavior imposed by it. They force us to do things we do not want to do. Therefore, the goal of this exploration was to design a piece of furniture that would adapt to my behavior.
When I come home from a long day, all I want to do is throw my outdoor clothes somewhere and not hang them up with effort. This kind of behavior calls for a design that is just as unconventional. For this, a multiplex board was cut into thin strips and incisions were made on the sides. These incisions allow the connection between the individual bars. To strengthen these connections, 3D-printed parts are attached to specific points. These have a wide variety of shapes, which are used to attach other pieces of clothing. This is a modular piece of furniture, as the sticks can be put together in a variety of ways.
The name „Cajin“ comes from Ladin and means disorder, as it may look at first glance. But a new kind of order is created.
To keep the focus on the object during the presentation, the additional plans were replaced by textiles. Screen printing was used to print all the supplementary information on the clothing.
