This project was created as part of the university project „Museum Chair“. The aim was to design a portable seat for a museum of our choice. My decision fell on the Egyptian Museum in Munich.
After visiting the museum several times, some aesthetic and ergonomic functions were defined. The piece of furniture must be very light, have two different seating heights and be easily portable. Inspired by the exhibits in the museum, a very simple but functional form was developed. The final design convinces with its uncomplicated concept and outstanding ergonomics. Many models were created to verify the design. The prototype on a scale of 1:1 was cut out using a CNC milling machine and finally finished by hand.
„A stool“ is a contemporary interpretation of the museum chair and combines a simple but appealing aesthetic with easy handling.
